Ok, the Romans were bad... But as far as christians go... Do some deep diving into medieval european torture devices. Suddenly, being fed to tigers for entertainment doesn't seem so bad.

@leidersammlung6955 Look, I don't actually care. My point still stands: the Bible is a useless and flawed book filled with contradictions and idiocy. Which is why it's so easy to use it for support pretty much anything a person may do, including torture. Your theological mumbo jumbo about which passage "nullifies" which is of no interest to me, because I am not a part of your cult, or any other religious cult for that matter...

@leidersammlung6955 To make things simpler, consider me an unapologetic racist towards all religious people in the world. Because that's pretty much what I am.

@leidersammlung6955 It kinda depends on which parts of the Bible you choose to follow. The Old Testament is not centered around forgiveness and compassion. And in medieval times, The Old Testament suited European rulers and the clergy just fine.

@leidersammlung6955 You're quoting the new testament. Not only is it literally not the passages I was referring to, but also the new testament is filled to the brim with hypocrisy and contradictions, including alleged statements from Christ himself. You call the Inquisitors and their torturers as "not real christians". And they would say exactly the same about you, and probably have you branded as a heretic. To me it doesn't really matter. You're all religious crazies in my eyes.

@leidersammlung6955 Christians have mixed and matched the two for millenia. Also, even Christ himself said that no letter of the law will ever become invalid. That idea about Mosaic law no longer being applicable is an entirely fictional invention of the Apostles which they decided AFTER Christ had already passed away.

@leidersammlung6955 For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:18-19 RSV)

@leidersammlung6955 “It is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for the smallest part of the letter of the law to become invalid.” (Luke 16:17 NAB)

@leidersammlung6955 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest part or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place.” (Matthew 5:17 NAB)

@leidersammlung6955 “All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness…” (2 Timothy 3:16 NAB)

@leidersammlung6955 “Know this first of all, that there is no prophecy of scripture that is a matter of personal interpretation, for no prophecy ever came through human will; but rather human beings moved by the holy Spirit spoke under the influence of God.” (2 Peter 20-21 NAB)

@leidersammlung6955 “Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law” (John7:19) and “For the law was given by Moses,…” (John 1:17)

@leidersammlung6955 “…the scripture cannot be broken.” –Jesus Christ, John 10:35
