I disagree with Ted though. Since i'm interested in the survival of my species. Our long term survival necessitates technological development. Sure, it might FEEL nice and fulfilling on a personal level to return to monke, like living off the land and building our own primitive huts, growing our own food while shunning machinery and circuitry. But our dinosaur ancestors too lived primitive lives devoid of technology. And it worked out fine for awhile... Until the giant meteor struck and killed them off, save from a few very small and less majestic species. If we collectively decide to return to monke, then we're basically signing out species collective death warrant due to the next cosmic threat coming our way. The only way to avoid this fate is for some portions of our species to eventually leave earth and set up shop elsewhere, so as to not put all eggs in one basket. And we need technology to achieve that. The problem with modern society isn't the technology itself, but the irresponsible and immature applications of technology. We use it to an excessive degree to create various mundane creature comforts or for entertainment rather than more ambitious and useful purposes.

At the very least, David could've confronted Ted and say to Ted that he'll turn Ted in unless Ted stops with the bombings. Ted might still have resented David for it, but it's not as much of a betrayal.

@wereham No, those of us still stuck on earth wouldn't. But those of us who managed to leave and colonize other celestial bodies would naturally survive a world ending event that takes place on earth. I had to spell this out to you, and you have the nerve to call my statement ridiculous? 🤔 Now go to the corner and bow your head in shame, boyo.

@ice44567 I know it's a package deal. But Ted was being extremely self centered with his ideology. He only thought about what makes HIM feel good in life. He never stopped to consider that keeping mankind in a perpetual caveman state of technology will eventually doom us to extinction.
