  1. I think the hot coffee case is valid. The victim didn't resort to a lawsuit right away, but did a decent thing by asking for compensation directly from McDonalds first, and McDonalds then had an easy way out to save face. But they chose to insult the victim with a pathetic amount, so frankly they deserve to be slapped with an insane payment.
