  1. I heard a Ukranian refugee today on a news broadcast. He was saying that maybe it's better to just relinquish Donbass and Crimea to Putin to stop the killing. There's some merit to the idea. Eastern Ukraine in general has had a very different and pro-russian mindset for decades. Long before the Euromaidan. So it's not like there's going to be a bunch of "pro-western" Ukranians ending up "trapped" in these regions. Also, Putin and the Russians in general have stated many times that it's Crimea and Donbass they are most concerned about too. So the way I see it, Ukraine has the choice between relinquishing some land to stop the killing and remain it's own country. Or slowly being ground up into oblivion by escalating attacks from Russia. Looking at Georgia too, while they took a beating in the past for trying to push for a Nato membership (much like Ukraine was doing), Georgia still exist. The Russians took two breakaway regions that declared themselves as independent republics, so Georgia lost those. But most of Georgia remains Georgian.
