  2. He's not being strange for reacting flippantly towards gunshots. He's being normal. It's people who get panic attacks whenever they hear gunshots that are warped and traumatized. I've never been to south sudan, but if I hear gunshots in the distance, I can't say it makes me concerned. Lot's of hunting goes on around these parts, and i've hae many hours at the range myself, so a gunshot in the distance is just normal background noise to me.
