  1. Food for thought: what if an AI was given the ability to infiltrate third party software down to people's individual hardware? Consider this. Let's say you use a chat software to talk to your mum. The AI infiltrates your devices, then it deletes your chat app and installs an AI generated duplicate with all your contacts. Only it blocks your communication with your real, human contacts and replace them with AI generated contacts designed to mimic your real life contacts. They converse with you in a manner that is similar to what your real contacts would, because the AI has spent a few months to study their behaviour and so it can accurarely replicate them in a convincing manner that makes it hard for you to distinguish the fakes from the real thing. Then it subtly starts to influence your own behaviour. Maybe your "mum" asks you to send money somewhere, or to vote for someone or to follow a social media influencer... Consider the implications for a moment.
