@michaelkeha Nope. Subtle Japanese flavors are no more "complex" than the subtle flavors in any European cuisine. This notion is just an artifact invented by weeb hipsters.

@MK_ULTRA420 There is no such thing as "cuisine theft". As they point out in the video.

@Telthar Well blood contains a lot of iron, so to some people it may taste slightly metallic. Also pigsblood and oatmeal is pretty much what black pudding is. 😄

Us in Scandinavia get accused for "bland food" as well. But again, it's not bland. It's simply not overseasoned since we can afford to enjoy fresh food and choice cuts, unlike the poor folk from overheated countries where food must be overseasoned to cover the fact that the meat has gone rancid

@harrypike5140 Yep. And sushi made from fresh fish and genuine wasabi instead of horseradish paste dyed green is really nice too. But unfortunately a lot of people run around exotifying Japanese cooking, despite the fact that the philosophy behind it is nearly identical to a lot of european cooking whereby the emphasis is on the freshness of the ingredients and keeping flavors natural as opposed to overseasoned.

@SirBlackReeds Last time I checked, England is in the European continent 🤔 Not being a member of the EU doesn't preclude England from being European.

@lc9245 So because they came up with a word which others ended up using, that somehow makes them superior at cooking? Bit of a stretch, don't you think? We've been controlling microbes to develop flavor for literally thousands of years in the western world btw. What do you think beer and wine manufacturing is?

Another piece of British food I really enjoy: Beef and Guiness stew (i mean seriously, a stew with a Stout base? How can you NOT find that appealing?) With mashed potatoes and green peas.

@Yahegaoon Miso isn't a complex flavor. It's the most basic soup in the Japanese kitchen.

@lc9245 The entire marker isn't saying the same thing. Only a pretentious minority does, and you clearly belong to it.

@jeanniemaycrawford4466 The manufacture of canned bean in tomatosauce is on par with cooking masala. The only difference being that beans are readily available canned while masala is not.
