That point when Jeremy Corbyn is more of a classical liberal than the staff of the Lotus Eaters 🤣

It's Funny how the classical liberal "Lotus Eaters" came out in defence of the Formula 1 girls, working as scantily clad glamour decoration to Formula 1 drivers, but HOOTERS is apparently a step too far 🤣

@plick645 Maybe it's the typically British classism showing through. Formula 1 drivers belong to the rich elite, so in the eyed of the Lotus Eaters, there is no harm in having them be surrounded by scantily clad glamour girls. But "working class blokes" being surrounded by scantily clad waitresses at Hooters? HOW BARBARIC! 🤣

@plick645 Yes. Don't underestimate how ingrained the topic of class is in the british people. It doesn't matter how much they speak of equality and democracy in the modern times. Deep down, most of them still view the royal family with reverence. They still have a "House of Lords" where positions are determined by hereditary titles rather than elections. And everyone has very different expectations on people depending on if they are born from a "posh" family or a "working class" family. Granted, other European countries still officially call themselves constitutional democracies. Like Sweden and Norway for example. But at least in these countries, the royal families are barred from political office. They are simply considered as tax funded state relics, used solely for the purpose of charity missions and diplomacy. In Britain, the Queen still holds a lot of constitutional political power. Only she and the royal family doesn't exert it in much of an official capacity. Still they have way more protections and political influence than many of the other european monarchies.

Why not just let the oh so infallible free market fairy decide whether Hooters belongs in Liverpool or not? 😏

I'd like to know which pubs men AREN'T leering at female staff? 🤔 I've been to many pubs, bars and nightclubs and the male patrons tend to leer at the female staff in general. IN EVERY SINGLE PLACE. And I've never even been to Hooters. So I fail to see why Hooters would differ from any other place.
