  1. It's not even about self-sacrifice. When you really care about someone, you don't consider listening to them opening up about frustrations as "labour". You have a genuine desire to find out what goes on in their minds and daily lives, and you feel like you want to do something to fix it. But you won't get that feeling if you're not emotionally invested into a person.
