They don't have the same exchange in destroyed vehicle ratios because the Ukranians barely have any vehicles to begin with. Most of them were destroyed during Russias initial attack where they bombed depots and airfields, essentially stripping Ukraine of most of it's armored and air support.

The russian troops are most definitely fighting with kid gloves. In part due to their own sentiments and in part due to orders from above. Putin does not want all of Ukraine flattened and turned to rubble. His goal is to break the back of the Ukranian military.

@ChucksSEADnDEAD It's hardly surprising. The Russians aren't there to flatten Ukraine and turn it into rubble. You have to understand that their beef is with Zelensky and the Ukranian military. Neither Putin nor his troops relish the thought of killing a bunch of civilians or utterly destroying Ukranian towns and cities. The fact that they're prosecuting a war inside Ukraine, a country which most russians have familial ties to in some way is probably the most demoralizing factor of all. Even though the western MSM like to dismiss all Russians as evil conquerors, that's not really what's going on. So the Russians do follow certain rules of engagement right now, and have overall been very restrained. And the Ukranian infantry is exploting that to their advantage. It's not really that different from when Americans were in Iraq and had to refrain from firing upon Iraqi troops hiding in religious buildings, hospitals, schools and such because the Americans hands were tied by RoE. Only, Russians have real, personal ties to Ukraine, whereas American forces didn't give two shits about Iraq or the Iraqis in general.
