@anonony9081 I have a problem with it because casting should not solely be about acting ability. At least not when you're doing an adaption of someone elses work or when you're doing something based on history. Immersion matters for film as much as it does for any other medium. If an adaption of H.C Andersens story requires a white actress, then the person being cast should be white in order to respect the source material. And yes, I object just as much to casting non-white characters with white actors as well. Going as far back as The Lone Ranger. It was wrong to make the Lone Ranger a white man with a black mask, when he was based on an honourable black Lawman.

Won't watch this film. I have a collection of classic Disney animated films from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to Wreck It Ralph on DVD. I made sure to get a complete collection with the "problematic" content intact to keep it safe from modern day Disney's woke, censorist crap

No white person could arguably see themselves reflected in the character of Aragorn, despite Aragorn being white. Aragorn is such a peak heroical figure that no white person in history would have a valid claim to compare himself to Aragorn. Aragorn is designed to be the kind of champion of justice that no one could really live up to.
