@floodgates182 Well Spartacus managed to create a pretty massive slave uprising that wreaked havoc on ancient Rome. They were defeated in the end because... Well they were going up against ancient Rome. But Spartacus and the slaves who joined his rebellion were all from many different countries and cultures. But due to suffering as slaves under the Roman yoke, they found some common ground. Mutually experienced hardships do that to people. Like fresh recruits in the military being forged into a cohesive and loyal group by going through the hardships that their drill instructors subject them all to, together.

@floodgates182 But Spartacus and his freed slaves were a quite cohesive force. If they were engaged in too much bickering and division they would never have gotten as far as they did. Their great misfortune was that the Roman armies were greater and better funded.
