Why ruin an AR by chambering it for 9 millies? 😢

Missed opportunity there. You could've labelled yourself "Demolition Man" 😏

Jeff Bingaman: Depends on how much gunpowder you're using.

Could've made the shield entirely of titanium instead. That way it would've had the same protection, but weigh less than the steel version. A friend of mine who works at a metal shop made some ballistic plates for his plate carrier from titanium sheets as well. Significantly lighter than the standard issue stuff (although probably more expensive, but it's not like he cared since he could just take scrap titanium pieces that the company didn't have any use for anyway).

XtreeM FaiL: Could be, but who cares? Whatever concealed handgun they're carrying, it's still a lethal and effective weapon. Why worry a bit "extta much" over concealed shotguns? You're just as dead if you get hit with a concealed carry pistol as you will be from a shotgun blast. And the concealed carry is perfectly legal.

I'm okay with "boomstick" becoming the official legal term. :)

The helmet is made by a japanese company though.

Timothy Fulkerson: Of course men do. They would prefer real guns, but it's kind of hard to get a bunch of people together willingly to shoot at eachother with real guns. The only way you get to do that is either by being a criminal. Or being in the military (and the latter is a big maybe, because most time spent in the military is spent on dull bullshit of "hurry up and wait") If firefights are your thing (in the sense of trying to hit your opponents before they hit you), then airsoft and paintball scratches that itch.

@mattmurphy7030 Cables are surely designed with redundancy in mind right? Like you don't want the cable to fail at the slightest wear or if one or two strands break off. You'd want the cable to basically still be able to carry the load of the elevator even after several strands are visibly torn. Or maybr not? Maybe the engineers just fall back on the emergency brakes?

With some home tinkering, I bet you could increase the energy quite a bit on that thing. I'm thinking a high-pressure hose attached to the back of the gun where the airtank would usually go, and then you carry a bigger airtank with greater pressure capacity connected to it on your back. Unfortunately I can't buy this gun where I live though. The laws regarding unregulated firearms are decided by muzzle energy, and not the function. Can't own any air rifle with a higher muzzle energy than 10 joules.

Eric Woll: That means that the militia is regulated. Not the guns that they use or own.

I'd like to see you try and shoot at the ballistic versions of the Devtac Ronin helmets. They cover the entire head, have built in miniature fans to keep lenses from fogging up, and the plates they're covered in are supposedly bullet resistant. They look really cool, but it would be interesting to see how they actually fare against getting shot.

The use of such helmets is not for things like extended fieldwork. Rather it's more similar in utility to a ballistic shield. No real soldier lugs around a ballistic shield for extended periods in combat zones either. You break it out when you know there's enemies in a building that must be breached.
