  2. It's not that surprising that bamboo would stop bullets at relatively thin thickness when you think about it. All plants have a fibrous structure to them after all. And "Kevlar" does too (Polyaramid fiber). The difference being that the structure of polyaramid is artificially made for purpose whereas something like bamboo has been grown organically.
