  1. A good way to demonstrate this is if you put a lightbulb in a glass of water, and then put them inside a microwave oven and then turn the oven on. You shouldn't keep it on for very long though since you'll damage the oven with metal parts inside of it while it's running. But if you do it for only a few seconds, you'll see the lightbulb light up. It has no physical connections to any powersource, yet it glows all the same due to the conditions inside the microwave oven allowing the electromagnetic fields i side to stimulate the lightbulb.
