  1. I'd agree that katana are easier to quickdraw due to the slight curvature of the blade. The human body and it's motions aren't evolved for completely straight movements. Most movements with arms and legs are slightly circular or curved. The European swords mentioned are all completely straight. Which has some uses (like delivering power to a central point), whereas cuts dig deeper if there is curvature to the blade and the cuts are performed with curved/semi-circular motions in harmony with the way the human body moves.
