In Swedish (a germanic language) we also have rolling "R's". The old norse word "Ragnarök" for instance can't be pronounced in Swedish without rolling R's. So I don't think rolling R's is primarily a thing in latin languages. EDIT: In fact, I think the practice of not rolling R's might be more of an English and French thing.

Jorge A. Rojas H: Isn't Greek closer to Portugese than Italian? Sometimes when I hear portugese pronounciation it reminds me a lot of greek.
