  2. Captain kiwi: I did. Some claims went completely against what my native japanese kendo sensei taught me. I didn't really get any explanation from the video why kendo "wasn't" a sport. Metatron started talking about "respect" etc. Well there are plenty of sports in the world where respectful behaviour and etiquette are so ingrained into the sport that it's actually a part of the rules of the sport itself (just like with kendo). The same goes for the level of seriousness in training.

  3. masterljreddead21: No, it's not any different at all from a lot of other sports. I've trained kendo and other regular sports to. Kendo is not "more respectful" at all. Try joining a golf club for instance, and you'll see that there are just as many rules of etiquette (if not more) to observe as a member and practicioner as in your average kendo dojo.
