  1. What about mindset? Sure, both fight for coin and plunder. But what sort of "after death" ideals did the roman legionary have? Isn't there a chance that the viking is a fervent believer in Valhalla, and that the only way to reach Valhalla is to die in combat. Maybe this would affect the outcome in some way?
