Ant Mallett: Good to see that some karate practicioners care more about the well being of their customers, instead of trying to earn more money by selling karate as some sort of taught "superpower" that will keep you safe from knives and guns. Sadly, the martial arts world is infested with irresponsible practicioners that have no qualms about spreading dangerous fantasies and instilling false confidence in their students purely for the sake of profit.

  3. ADevilNeverCry: None of them will work against and armed assailant. I don't care how long you've trained or what you've trained. I've seen plenty of martial artists get floored by completely untrained thugs in the streets.

  5. Great video. As a survivor of fights involving knives. I really disdain the term "knife fight" for the exact same reasons that you put forth, because it evokes an image of a duel between to opponents aware that they're fighting, when in truth a properly used knife is about as much of a "duelling weapon" as a precision rifle in the hands of a sniper would be. (or in other words: if your opponent realizes that you're using a weapon against him or even realize he's in combat, then you're doing it wrong)
