Slavery has already been forbidden to talk about in some cases though. For example, mention the Barbary Slave Trade, the primary victims of it, the number of victims and who the perpetrators were in academic circles, and suddenly you'll have people coming out of the woodwork accusing you of racism for "taking away attention from the trans-atlantic slave trade" or you'll be accused of "islamophobia" or both..

You need to show actual human remains of africans being dug up in Iceland, Sweden, Norway or Denmark that predate the iron age, using verifiable carbon dating to prove their authenticity. @icantthinkofabetteraccount9031 Listen dumbass, it's one thing to say MAYBE there were like one, two at most, black slaves in Scandinavia at the time, brought back through some extremely long voyage to northern africa, which you of course can't prove since there are zero records of any black people being transported from africa to scandinavia at the time and there are no graves or skeletons proving the presence of black people in scandinavia either. And doing what you muppets do and claim that there MUST have been black africans in scandinavia at the time because a tiny portion of norsemen visited the most northern parts of africa. Suffice to say that you are really going out on a limb with your assumptions, and I have zero reason to entertain your far fetched theories and wild assumptions to which you have shown zero proof to back up..

@icantthinkofabetteraccount9031 I have yet to see either of you present any academic papers claiming that black people lived in scandinavia at the time. "Historians" are not scientists, nor are they credible seeing as how some if them make far fetched assumptions like you do now, and often get things wrong. The fact remains that you can't prove the presence of any black people in Scandinavia at the time. Bones are the only definitive evidence and since there are no bones of any black people, the only scientifically correct assumption is that no black person was there.

The problem with your source is that we don't even know if the vikings in question were Scandinavian norsemen or if they actually returned to Scandinavia at all with these slaves. Norsemen travelled the world, sold their services as mercenaries in many cultures (and would've captured slaves for their employers). Their culture also spread beyond scandinavia (like with the Kievan Rus), so it could just as well have been slavic baltic vikings doing the raiding. Or it could've been some of the norse settlers of the british isles. So there are a myriad of scenarios that do not include black africans being brought to Scandinavia at all at this point in time. And since we have ZERO archeological evidence for the presence of black people in scandinavia during this period, using one muslim writer who witnessed raids in Africa but never went to Scandinavia to see where these captured slaves supposedly ended up is far fetched and fanciful.

@budibausto Well in my view, I don't really see the point of dragging up and condemning something that happened long into the past. The way forward is that people need to let go of past grievances when the conflict is over and both victims and perpetrators are dead. Holding on to past transgressions "on behalf" of ancestors serves no purpose. It doesn't "honour" their memory, it won't bring them back and it won't "settle the score". And I do believe with firm conviction that the victims of slavery, regardless of what race they were or during what period they were enslaved would've much prefered that different races and ethnic groups co-existed peacefully and left eachother alone rather than continually fuelling social and even military conflicts when there's no good reason to. That's why people need to let go of the past rather than reviving the conflicts of it. It goes for black people and the trans-atlantic slave trade, it goes for the jews and the holocaust, it goes for mediterranean europeans and the Barbary slave trade, it goes for China and Korea in relation to WWII and Japan, it goes for the British and their victimization from the Norse and so on. No person alive today should feel the need to- or be compelled to apologize on behalf of their ancestors. No person alive today has any moral right to be offended "on behalf" of dead ancestors. Refusing to accept this is a guarantee for further racial and ethnic divides and increse of conflicts and will keep the pendulum of Vendettas swinging forever.

The winters get very dark here, with very low amounts of sunlight hours during the day. Darker skin, means less absorption of sunlight, which means less synthesis of vitamin-D in the skin.

The mechanisms of vitamin-D synthesis by solar rays coming in contact with skin are well researched and well understood by pretty much all biologists. And the fact remains that greater levels or melanin = less synthesis of Vitamin-D. Why the hell do you think humans who moved northern europe evolved pale skin to begin with, you brainlet? I'll give you a hint: our skin is not white because we don't go to the tannint salon often enough. The paleness of caucasians is a genetic trait that they are born with, and there is a cause for that trait. The cause is less direct sunlight during the winter months in the northern hemisphere. And so humans adapted. And it doesn't take many generations for humans to change skintone when being subjected to unfamiliar levels or solar radiation either. It's one of the very first adaptations that occur. You need to stop reading that "woke" litterature that your university propaganda center got you hooked on and study some biology.

I don't need to present proof for it, because the burden of proof is always on the one who claims that something DOES exist or DID exist. It's never on the person who correctly deduces that the lack of evidence presents a logical conclusion that it doesn't exist.

And you just prove my point by accusing me of racism simply because I accurately recognize that you are being racist towards white people, when you go around calling for the deaths of white people and nobody in your political movement even bats an eye. Instead you always come up with excuses for such behaviours, saying shit like "oh but you must take the historical context into account" and whatever. No I fucking don't. The white people alive today are not guilty or responsible for racist actions towards non-white people of the past. You unironically have companies and even government branches, who in the name of "diversity" actively discriminate against white people in job applications. Even to the point where they flat out state "white people need not apply". AND EVEN THOUGH it is against the law in many countries to do so, none of them are prosecuted for it. Talk badly about any non-white race, or even suggest that white people also have problems and you'll get a violent, screaming BLM-hate mob breathing down your neck. You will also get instantly cancelled and deplatformed from public life by every silicon valley tech giant, and sometimes even get banned from credit card and banking services. You also have multiple instances of teachers abusing and mistreating white students in schools, singling them out and basically forcing them to apologize for their race in front of their class. You also have instances of college professors who openly admit that if a white student raise their hand during a discussion or seminar, they will refuse to let them have the word with their excuse being that it's more important to have "non-white voices heard" or some similar lefty bullcrap. So don't come and tell me that non-white people supposedly face the most racism today, because it is a complete lie. Also I can back up every single claim I make here with news articles and videos proving it. Racism towards non-white people in the western world is a non issue. In fact it's not even institutional as your lefty buddies like to claim. Whereas the racism towards white people is demonstrably institutional, with thousands of incidents to prove it. And no, your own race does not factor into my equation. Because unlike you race baiters, I don't argue from the position of race but from principle. So frankly I don't care if you're black or white because it doesn't matter to the facts.

@budibausto I agree that racism poses a problem in a lot of ways. But in my view it's more of a character flaw present in most humans to some degree rather than some massive threat to society. Historically speaking there have definitely been more racism and racist mindsets than there has been racially motivated genocides. It's a very dumb oversimplification to assume that things like slavery or the holocaust would not have happened if people were just "less racist" and that we can somehow stop it from happening again by "eliminating racism". Most people I've met seem to exhibit some form of in-group preference and racial bias but it doesn't mean they secretly desire or are just waiting for the next violent, racial conflict to take place.

Negatives are deduced from proving positives and logically conclude the negatives from them. It's like the same dumb fallacy like Christians bring up against atheists when they say: "Prove that God doesn't exist" It's completely nonsensical. It's not up to Atheists or even possible for anyone to prove a non-existence of the divine. It's up to the religious to prove that their gods DO exist. They are the ones claiming that God exist after all. And it's the same with "Black vikings". We have evidence of Vikings bring white scandinavians. We have descriptions of them in the Edda's and Sagas. We have human remains and skeletons of them. We have depictions of them in period artwork. Therefore it is logical to conclude that they existed. Then my feeble opponent comes along making claims that there were also black vikings, yet doesn't present a shred of physical proof to their claims. Therefore it is logical to conclude that there weren't any black vikings. If you don't understand why this conclusion is the natural one, then you need to go to university.

The modern right have never been in favor of slavery like the Democrats/KKK were back during the trans-atlantic slave trade and the civil war. The problem with you is that just because the modern right don't like increased taxation or being forced to pay "reparations" to people they neither did anything to, nor had anything done to them, then they must be "racist" like Democrat slave traders. We don't believe that the idea of paying reparations or paying for "social programmes" for specific races is bad because we "hate" the race it's supposed to benefit. We think these ideas are terrible because we oppose taxation in general, have zero faith in government officials or corrupt NGO's being able to sensibly allocate this money in ways that will actually work, and finally we alive today do not owe minorities anything since we never "enslaved" anyone nor did we subject anyone to any crimes. @whathell6t I'm dead serious. Both fascism and national socialism are inherently left wing ideologies. They share practically all ideological elements with socialism and it's variants and only differ in the most superficial ways. By contrast, neither fascism nor national socialism has anything in common with right wing ideals. Right wingers have primarily been on the side of reducing government influence and being in favor of individual freedoms and securing property rights for individuals. Socialism on the other hand has always been in favor of MORE government power and influence, and limiting individual freedoms and property rights... Which is exactly the same idea the Nazis and the Fascists had. The only reason anyone would make a distinction between socialism and national socialism is due to the fact that historically, their leaders ended up being bitter rivals during WWII. But that's not exactly new or unique in the history of left wing ideology, since leftwingers have a pathological tendency to resort to factionalism and fighting amongst themselves, even amongst their own political parties. Or to put it in simple terms: nobody killed more socialists than Josef Stalin and Mao Zhedong.

There is no systemic oppression on racial grounds in North America or Europe today. Save for the institutionalized and systemic oppression against white people, and there's proof to back it up, since white people are the only group where it's become socially and institutionally acceptable for blaming and heaping scorn upon, as well as actively discriminate against in things like job postings. Non-white minorities literally have nothing to complain about.
