  1. Keep in mind though: the length of the shaft is not just a matter of reach but acceleration. Imagine that your shoulder is a central hub of a spinning wheel. When you swing your hand alone with arm fully extended, your hand accelerates faster than the shoulder does. So when you hold a wooden shaft with a weight at the end, you extend the length of your arm basically, causing the business end of the weapon to accelerate faster. Weight + increased acceleration = harder impact when it strikes.

  2. Excuse me? Whomever in their right mind would suggest that a mace is NOT an anti-armour weapon? Defeating armour is what they were invented for, for crying out loud!
