For the record: I have the exact same objections to Yasuke in Assassins Creed Shadows as I would have if Ubisoft announced a game called "Assassins Creed: Zulu" and the protagonist is a white guy instead of a black african Zulu warrior. I don't think it's unfair to say that my argument is kept consistent.

@GeromeSmith-me9im This is my personal take on it so I know it doesn't apply to everyone, but the way I see it, each title in the series has been about showcasing a particular historical period and "native" culture for the most part, with the protagonists mostly being ingrained into the local setting. So it wouldn't feel as natural or thematic with a white guy set in a period drama in Africa. Then there's the fact that Zulu warriors haven't been given a lot of exposure in gaming and so it would be more interesting to see it. We've had a decent amount of games featuring foreigner protagonists being action heroes in Africa as it is (even in Ubisoft's Far Cry 2), so it would be interesting to have a native protagonist with actual ties to the local culture and traditions. Again, that's just my sentiments.

talk-supersix-seven6021 Makes me think of the Just Cause series a bit. Would also be interesting to have a third party in the mix like a local faction striving for independence. So that you could have a faction dynamic similar to Fallout New Vegas with the NCR, Legion and Robert House/Independent questlines.
