Raf: I don't know if you've been following the development, but Patreon recently hit some famous youtubers with arbitrary bans (Sargon of Akkad being one of them). They even went so far as to ban them for reasons that weren't even covered by Patreons terms of service. This has lead to quite a big, and understandable backlash where Patrons have decided to terminate their Patreon accounts in protest. The exodus is so big that other content creators have felt it since supporters usually donate to several content creators at once over Patreon. Most of the content creators banned and the ones who left in solidarity with the banned ones moved to SubscribeStar. Just to cover your bases, it might be a good idea to open up an account there in lieu of your Patreon account. I am not a donor at the moment (being unemployed and still looking for work I can't justify the extra expense of supporting content creators I like for the time being), but when I do get a job I do plan to pitch in with a little something to the content creators I've followed for a long time. But I despise the way that Patreon has handled things, and I really don't want them taking a cut of anything I might donate to you, because I don't want to support them in any way, shape or form. So, if you open up an account on an alternative crowd funding platform, you could give your followers an alternative method to donate to you without having to give support to Patreon as a company. Just thought I'd put it out there.

@qwertyTRiG You're just being disingenous and dishonest. The tweets and posts are in the article, regardless of who wrote the article itself. Also if you check Markus Perssons (Notch, creator of Minecraft and a billionaire) Twitter, you can see that he decided to refuse be a patron on Patreon anymore as well following this controversy. I have proven that the people opting out of Patreon is not nearly as "insignificant" as the liar c johnson claims.
