  2. "Colour and prejudice weren't linked" I'll remain skeptical to that statement. Considering how prevalent racial prejudice has been all across the world, for much longer than the relatively young concept of academic racism (derived and bastardized from ideas from people like Charles Darwin, Carl von Linnaeus, Friedrich Nietszche) I don't see it as plausible that ancient romans would be completely "colourblind" as it were.

  3. I don't think the writers of that article really comprehends the complexity of the question. WHICH of the Romans are they refering to? Plebeans? Patricians? The knights? Citizens of provinces? Slaves?
