I would agree with those three convictions. Except maybe the first one in modern times. WW1-WW2 tanks were still relatively "new" and thus scary. Today tanks aren't really employed as anti-morale weapons in the same manner. But at a certain close range from the tank, you would be safer than being further away from it. Co-axial machine guns have a hard time targeting people within touching distance of a tank, just like a machine gun mounted at the top hatch will. The scary areas of a tank to be as infantry is where the tank can aim at you. And in modern times with thermal imaging optics, you can't easily hide from the tank either Now the problem with dealing with tanks at close range however, is the fact that only an idiot commander would employ tanks without infantry support. If you're that close to a tank, then there's definitely infantry close by as well that you have to go through first to get at the tank in question.
