  1. I'm here thinking: what if you could make a design where the 360 traverse is achieved by the gunner being able to assume control of the tracks on the vehicle? Self-propelled artillery isn't intended to fire during movement anyway. The intent is to be able to keep up with armored units, and also relocate quickly after firing one or several shots. So if you had a system where the gunner and loader assume control over the tracks for traverse purposes, while the driver has the ability to override it during the case of an emergency, you could've saved a lot of construction that goes into the turret so the gun only requires elevation control.
