This video reminds me, but I seem to have forgotten the details. I think I once saw a replica of a WWII-era machinegun. Fairly certain it was an mg-34 or mg-42 but i'm not sure, where the wooden stock could actually rotated a quarter so the stock became horisontal rather than vertical. The reasoning behind it was to ease hip-firing since rather than bracing the vertical stock against your shoulder during shoulder firing, you could brace the machine gun against your bicep using the horisontal position instead. Does this invention sound familiar to anyone? I've really forgotten a lot of the details here so it would be nice to be reminded of what weapon it was. :)
