For being money men, I have to say that studio execs kind of suck at it. Ask any wallstreet stock trader and they'll hammer in the importance of diversifying your portfolio rather than putting all the proverbial eggs in one basket. Sometimes investments will yield high returns. Sometimes they'll yield losses. But when you placed many bets all across the board, the profits usually outweigh the losses in the long run. Hollywood execs just don't seem to grasp this.
