The good thing is that real spooks look like Bob Oodenkirk. People think intelligence operatives look like James Bond or some sort of Predator-esque special forces types. In reality, the intelligence agencies of the world want their personel to be very bland and unassuming. Grey Men who can blend in anywhere basically.

@Garrus1995 Sadly, spywork in itself is kinda boring. It's not late night stakeouts or sneaking into military bases. It's more like working as a janitor or an office clerk at embassies and the like, stealing documents intended for a shredder. I think Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is the movie that got the closest to represent real world spy work in some respects.

@jhnshep That has actually happened in real life in the U.S. FBI basically set up a sting operation against members of the NSA or the ATF or something like that. At the same time, the NSA/ATF guys thought that THEY were the ones doing a sting operation on the FBI guys. That's literally what a bunch of asshats these non-military feds are. Not realizing they're trying to entrap eachother. 🤣

@choreomaniac FBI = not intelligence gatherers. Which is also why they're so bad at blending in. That photo you're refering to just showcase how painfully obvious their "undercover" disguises are. CIA operatives don't look or dress like that on the job. The FBI is just federal law enforcement. CIA is military. And that makes all the difference. The CIA also has a lot of personel that would easily blend in at Hezbollah or Black Panther rallies.
