  1. Regarding the planet, it depends on the distance from it's sun really. It's not impossible for a planet to orbit close enough to where the day side gets burningly hot, while the night side is... Well "tolerable". As for the issue with the oxygen, if there is something on the planet that produce oxygen then having half of the planet burning might not cause all the oxygen to go. But I don't see much plantlife on Crematoria, so they'd have to explain where the oxygen comes from.
