This makes me think of John McLane from the early Die Hard movies. Now Bruce Willis knows how to be stoic, but John ended up being a both likeable and relatable character. Because while he is stoic when he's calm, he definitely express a lot of emotion when being backed into a corner by the bad guys (the office shootout scene in Die Hard 1) or when he has to do something absolutely terrifying to make it out of a situation alive (jumping off the exploding Nakatomi Tower rooftop exploding with only a jury rigged firehose preventing him from falling to his death). So while he does a lot of alpha male, badass stuff, he also comes across as human and very vulnerable giving the situations he finds himself in.

It's strange. Janine being sassy and abrasive in the original Ghostbusters was actually entertaining and funny. Galadriel being sassy and abrasive in Rings of Power just end up being cringe and annoying. Only goes to show how shitty writers have gotten over the years.
