@dathip : There is no fallacy in appealing to hypocrisy. You can't preach to others, when you're guilty or continually committing the same crimes. It just shows you don't really believe in what you preach, and that you're most likely just trying to decieve the opposing party. "One rule for thee and another for me" is also a logical fallacy

@theleft-rightderision460 : Nope. But nobody is going to take that persons accusations seriously, by virtue of being a crook himself. As it should be. But that example is pretty bad since you're applying it to a logical issue of whether a statement is objectively correct or not. Whereas I'm applying my argument to situations of a more philosophical nature, where there is no objectively right or wrong answer. For example, a greedy capitalist preaching about the supposed benefits and prosperity in adopting communism.

@dathip : it doesn't matter. The hypocrite automatically reveals themselves as a liar and a fraud. Debate is not just a matter of right and wrong, it's also a matter of honesty.
