I care about possible negative foreign influence in Japan. While Japan has problems of it's own that needs to be a dressed, it has a very strong cultural society without much political extremism undermining the social fabric. But it seems that some Japanese people idealize the west, even though western societies are increasingly wracked with political extremism and polarization, creating societies of very low trust. There's a reason why Japanese people can leave their laptops at the tablr in a café while going to the bathroom, and expect the laptop to still be there when they return. Doing something like that in a western country you're likely to have your laptop stolen. Trust is nearly non-existent in western societies. You don't want Japan to go down the same route by taking too much influence from western ideas and political debates.
