Nobita-san: As a foreigner, my impression is that aspects of Japanese culture are very conformist and collectivist. While it must certainly have served a purpose of creating social harmony, would you say that maybe it is a bit excessive? I can't help but think that the overbearing conformist values, being so prevalent might be a root cause of the problem. And it's not just affecting children in schools, but also adults in the workplace. Reputation seems very important to Japanese people. Maybe it would be prudent to ask them: do they really wish their country to be seen as a place where overbearing conformity serve to make children and adults unhappy and miserable to the point of comitting suicide? It would be interesting to hear more Japanese people talk about conformity and expressing how it affects them in their daily lives, and if it really helps them to feel happy or not.

@emmanuelarevalo2018 Not to the same extent as in Japan. You can see this statistically. Conformity in schools exist to a degree all over the world. Thr suicide cases seem to correlate with the level of conformity in society.

@japanlifestory I don't see a lack of globalization as something negative. In fact, resisting globalization is only healthy for a society. A country should strive towards being independent and provide for it's own.
