  1. If Lucas didn't want to dedicate a full ten years of his life, then he could at least have hired people to do the directing and script writing. Just toss them the general outline he has in mind, let them fill in the blanks. Submit the script for approval. If he likes the scripts written, then he could give the go ahead to shoot the films. If not, then they can go back to the drawing board. The point is: doing it this way he'd still retain the creative control he desired. Selling the franchise off to one of the most soulless entertainment corporations imaginable was just begging for seeing his magnum opus destroyed and humiliated. You have your billions now Lucas. Just shut your mouth. You sold out and YOU betrayed your own work in the end.
