Back during the stone age, our primitive ancestors made paintings on walls. The advanced ones depicted human shapes and animal shapes. But some of the simpler ones consisted of something so simple as a handprint. Now a handprint might not carry the kind of technical finesse as the Mona Lisa, but these works of art happened in a time where even written language was yet to be invented. A humble handprint still carry with it a lot of meaning. It's a human form. Something that us descendants of today can identify as human, and even if they didn't have written language, it still carries a clear message: "We were here. We were alive. And this handprint shows it." And the fact that these simple handprints could survive for thousands of years for us to discover is fantastic in itself. Yet these "modern artists", with their access to some of the most advanced tools of visual depiction imaginable (paintbrushes, chisels, computer software, airbrushes etc.) can't even be bothered with anything more identifiable or advanced than drawing vertical lines on a piece of canvas... It boggles the mind how these so called "artists" can't see the irony in it.
