  1. Yes, the average lifespan is kind of having a thumb on the scale due to infant mortality and young women tragically perishing during child birth and related complications. A lot of people think this means that most people died in their 30's and 40's as if that was their "maximum lifespan". But people would make it to their 30's and 40's at about the same rate they do today so long as they managed to make it until their 10th year first.
