But you also need wives to eventually reign in the risk takers, so they can live to old age and impart their hard earned, risk taking experiences and lessons to the younger generarions. Because let's be fair, a society composed solely of risk takers will eventually implode by too many rash and reckless decisions cropping up with disastrous results

  2. Not only F1 drivers. In WW2, young and reckless men were the prime demographic for fighter pilots for much the same reason. Men who live in the moment, caring only for thrills. A family man of maturity would be too distracted by familial obligations and sentiments to be a fighter ace.
