  1. This is one of the primary reasons why I object to legislation that protects exclusive rights to so called "intellectual property". People might naively expect it to merely be about protecting the ownership over films and books owned by authors and movie studios. But it will never stop just there, because biologists and medical companies are also "copyrighting" the discoveries of genes and their manipulation to treat illnesses AND perform hereditaty human augmentation. So basically, companies like Pfizer OWNS some of your genes that you were born with. And no, they don't have to manipulate any of your genes first. It is enough, according to the law, to simply be the first to discover a gene and catalogue it's function in order to claim ownership of it. So the corpos are basically allowed to directly own parts of your own body, which they certainly did not manufacture. This is why copyright and IP should be abolished from all legislation globally. Not only is it anti-capitalist and anti-free market, but it's also a stepping stone on the path to bioslavery.
