I have to disagree with Ted on the point of technology making life less fulfilling. At least on a personal level. In my case I'd argue that technology has helped me undertake many fulfilling projects because with the internet I could easily find various tutorials and guides in various different fields of arts and crafts. I have then proceeded to use the knowledge gained from them to make a lot of things by myself which all felt very fulfilling when completed. Suppose I had not have any access to the internet instead. I'd still do some arts and crafts, but every project would be intensly discouraging due to a lot of failed results and having to go in completely blind and ignorant. So in my opinion, it's not technology that makes life less fulfilling. It's how you use it. Just the other day I marinated and cooked some beef steaks to absolute perfection, for example. I could do this because the internet allowed me to study the intricacies of frying time (when you cook steaks, mere seconds can mean the difference between a medium steak and a well done steak). I could have attempted it on my own without any guidance of course. But that would've involved quite a few ruined steaks, which would've been both expensive and discouraging. Also using this guidance doesn't mean I follow it to the letter. The marinade for example is my own mix by now. I just took inspiration from one in a recipe but then added spices and alcoholic beverages of my own choosing. If more people used technology this way, instead of just being passive, scrolling consumers of social media, I think their quality of life would improve rather than diminish

See with personality types, you're delving into areas of what I have been proposing for years. We're not going to "convince" leftists to see reason, because they weren't made leftist. They were born leftist. Eventually a final battle will have to take place so that the survivors get to decide humanity's agenda from then on.

@davethebrahman9870 Yes exactly. It's not like you could just up and become an apprentice with a craftsman of whatever happens to interest you that month on a whim in the past. But with the internet in your pocket you can start learning and picking up new skills at the click of a button. I have countless examples of this that doesn't just involve cooking. For example, i'm not an auto mechanic. But when the breaks and coil springs on my car failed inspection and needed to be replaced. I didn't go to an auto shop to get scammed out of a huge amount of money. I ordered the parts that needed to be replaced online and got to work by myself, using tutorials on youtube for how to do the replacement. Saved me a lot of money and also felt good to fix something with my own two hands instead of just "paying some guy" to do it for me. And from the lessons learned doing this, i now feel comfortable replacing other parts too, without any tutorials. DIY can really flourish if you use the internet the right way.
