@Alex_Fahey I hear this argument a lot. Yet hardly anyone can point out exactly how companies like Microsoft are supposedly "subsidized" in a way that makes it impossible for competitors to compete with Microsoft and threaten their position. I'd argue that being "first" in a niche field of business can in fact create enough protection against competition to the point where government intervention and protection isn't really necessary. You even admit to it yourself by using the term "too big to fail". Being too big to fail is not derived through government protection or subsidies, but is in fact a natural outcome of capitalism. A huge, global corporation can easily afford to undercut smaller competitors by reducing prices to a point where a smaller competitor can't stay afloat and end up being eliminated from the market with no government aid required.

But I thought capitalism would fix all of this? I thought capitalism ensured that there would be no shortage of competitors to threaten a company like microsoft and thereby discouraging them from these things?
