  2. I wonder about the finite nature of gold. On the one hand you have geological estimates of how much gold exist on earth. But the market value of gold is determined by "extracted" gold, not by theoretical estimates. So when you invest in gold, aren't you basically betting on that no one on earth will strike a huge gold deposit? If they manage to mine more gold than expected then the value of gold would decrease wouldn't it?
