What's the point of pride over something you had no control over whatsoever? No white person feels "proud" because history is riddled with a lot of white inventors. The achievements of an inventor does not somehow "spread" to you because you happen to be of the same race as that inventor. If you want to feel proud about something, then go out and achieve something of your own. The inventors that came before you are good to be INSPIRED by, but they're no valid source of pride to anyone but themselves, and possibly their teachers and parents who raised them right and taught them skills.

And us "racists" would just go and say: "Yeah, that's great! If only more black people today valued education and invention instead of constantly skipping school and dealing drugs..."

"Fake it til you make it" 🤣

@Vivian Perry I already got mine. Official crime stats divided by race was very illuminating for example...

@mr_knowitall Yeah these inventors and innovators certainly were faced with real obstacles. Unlike the BLM activists of today, who are mostly just lazy and entitled. "Give me free stuff because... Slavery in the past which I was never personally subjected to!" These are ideas that would have never crossed the mind or any self-respecting african american inventor or scientist back then, and that's DESPITE the fact that they faced real racism and actual discrimination.

Not really. Historians have lied about history since history became a subject of academic study basically. And that was back in ancient times even. Like with Roman Emperors. They often funded "historians" to basically write non-factial smear pieces on every predecessor to the current emperor in order to make the current emperor look better by comparison.

@j.savage1228 Don't mention it. Life is too short to be spent on the sidelines watching others succeed and taking undeserved pride by association from their achievements. Instead use them as an example to follow, to achieve success of your own. Even if ones own achievements may be modest, nobody can take them away from you. You can look back at them for the rest of your life and think: "Yeah, I did that. I made an effort and it paid off."
