  1. Regarding the notches. It looks like you're basically handcrafting every single one individually. What I learned from this is that it might be a good idea to make two perfect notches once. The fashion a wooden template piece that fits those notches. Then you can use that template piece and test against the other notches you make and see how well it fits with the new notches. Should, in theory, yield very consistent results
