  1. The word he uses is apt: "baffling" is what every government pronouncement is about right now. They are putting before the public a daily feed of unhinged freefall so that their words gradually are seen to be moving further away into the distance. Thus their words can more easily fail to match their deeds - air travel can be 'made easier' at the same time as it is made impractical by....... ahem........... 'other factors'.
