At that stage we can goad Russia into some sort of reaction to our placing missiles and bases right up to their border - use this to ramp up energy costs, degrade further, the already damaged levels of trade. Keep this up so that poor people get poorer and the middle classes are financially wiped-out by unprecedented levels of currency supply from the magic money tree, making currencies inflate their way to Weimar levels. Then we have them: they're hungry and cold; they're totally dependent on handouts to have even the very basics of existence. At this stage they will gladly accept anything and everything we 'ask' of them. We own everything and they are our slaves.
