  2. We are social animals. We need to mix with each other, physically. We need to talk in person in order to fully gauge the standing of relationships. Beyond those human needs, with very few exceptions, work is more thoroughly and speedily carried out in a place which is not home. Home is refuge from the rigour of work, and to work at home is to lose that refuge. Then there are the traders who depend on people leaving home to work. The vibrancy of a society in which people mingle and mix, meet and some eventually mate; seek out company or stumble upon unexpected relationships. It's called having a full life and a healthy society - working from home en-masse is the perfect way to shrink from, miss out on life and to bring about societal strife.
