I have a selection of Youtube channels that I visit frequently, in the full knowledge that the ideas they espouse run directly counter to my own. How else can I keep abreast of the enemy?

Hang on. That early analogy: the world is round and so that means MMT must be sound? You mean, the world isn't actually flat? How could I have been so misled? Prices don't go haywire, the debased dollar goes haywire - in a downward direction. Gold is showing the world right now, just how diluted and debased the dollar has become. The US government invented many $trillions during the plandemic. How is that 'investment' going? It made sure a lot of Netflix got watched instead of work getting done; and now it's all so much unearned currency swilling ever upward in the biggest transfer of wealth in history. Ooh yes, please more! And then.......climate change. Oh yes, that has to be waved around for da kids. MMT is not a pipe dream; it's just another arm of the move to destroy the Western economies - to take away the wealth of its peoples so that they are made compliant, unquestioning paupers. It's working well.

Chomsky, along with the producers of the text in this clip, display a very common and widespread moral tokenism here. They first provide cogent argument and copious evidence to explain that Russia's actions in Ukraine are perfectly understandable, almost obligatory if Russia were to retain its security. They then undermine those actions with the disclamatory statement that no such actions can be justified. The 'from Russia's perspective' analogy used in the clip actually recognises the real world consequences that are likely to arise from placing a powerful, sovereign nation under threat from neighbouring territory: we all know what would happen were China or Russia to do in Mexico what NATO has done in Ukraine; the reaction would come swiftly from the US, and none of it would be deemed unjustifiable. The Russians need and deserve their very own 'Monroski Doktrin'. Only then can we have peace.
