This is the most important issue in the West today. The 'movement' was started in UK in 1968 and has ramped-up ever since. The product that comes out of our education system is not educated young people; we are supplying our society every year, with people who not only have no appreciable general knowledge, but who are happy with - even proud of - that void. There is somehow a worthiness in being fick. School and college leavers are putty - many, superbly certificated putty - always available to take whatever imprint the state dictates. They are kept apart from knowledge of past events - 'history' to them is at most a potted account of Hitler's handiwork. Geography is a wasteland. They have not the slightest idea where things are happening in the World and why. Most tragically, they are given no means by which they might defend themselves against a lifetime of financial ineptness and failure - they have not a clue as to the way that banks and government are in the business of keeping them poor and how they do it. This utilisation of ignorance is planned and maintained by individuals occupying the positions of power in education departments, down through teacher training colleges to the staff-room foot soldiers.
